Mike Winkelmann ( Beeple) collection EVERYDAYS: THE FIRST 5000 DAYS sold by Christies with 69 million.
The Everydays: the First 5000 Days was created by Beeple, aka Mike Winkelmann. In hes Everydays series, Winkelmann created 5000 digital images. Christie's sold the transaction's non-fungible token (NFT) in 2021 for $69.3 million, making it the most expensive NFT ever sold.
Since May 2007, Beeple has posted a new work of art every day. A digital picture has been created every day for more than 5,000 days without interruption.
Comparing Beeple's Day 1 (1 May 2007) with Day 5,000 (7 January 2021) reveals his immense progress as an artist. It all started with basic drawings every day. The use of abstract themes, colors, forms, and repetitions became commonplace once Beeple began working in 3D. His digital pictures have become increasingly current over the past five years.
The purchase was made by Vignesh Sundaresan, creator of Metapurse NFT and MetaKovan. It cost Sundaresan 42,329 Ethereum to purchase the artwork.
Through the media frenzy surrounding the Everydays auction, Sundaresan and Winkelmann marketed twenty other Beeple works. Allegations have been made that the auction is a publicity stunt.
Despite this, Sundaresan does not own the artwork. Any web browser can view artwork in a virtual museum. Everydays continues to be the most expensive NFTs
