Mike Winkelmann ( Beeple) art EVERYDAYS: THE FIRST 5000 DAYS was sold with 69 million. Most expensive NFT ever sold.

The Everydays: the First 5000 Days is the creation of Mike Winkelmann, also known as Beeple. In his Everydays series, Winkelmann created 5000 digital images. Christie's sold the associated non-fungible token (NFT) for $69.3 million in 2021, making it the most expensive NFT ever sold.

The cryptocurrency investor Vignesh Sundaresan, founder of Metapurse NFT and MetaKovan, purchased Everydays. With 42,329 Ethereum, Sundaresan purchased the artwork.

The reason Sundaresan and Winkelmann drove up the price of this work was to drive sales of speculative assets relating to twenty other Beeple works, known as "B20 tokens." During media coverage of the Everydays auction, these token prices soared, but then plummeted. There have been some accusations that the auction was a publicity stunt.

However, Sundaresan does not receive the copyright for the artwork. In a virtual museum, the public can view artwork through a web browser within "the metaverse".
