How Our Flight Emissions Calculator Works?

The International Council on Clean Transport reported that passenger aviation emitted an average of 90 grams of CO2 per passenger kilometer in 2019. Our flight emissions calculator uses this information to determine how many NFTs you need to purchase to offset the carbon emissions of your flight. It is calculated by using the average of 90g of CO2 per kilometer traveled by air. Additionally, it is known that one liter of petrol produces approximately 2.3 kilograms of carbon dioxide. Based on this, 100 km traveled by air would use approximately 3.91 liters of petrol. Our calculator converts emissions into fuel burn, making it more easily understandable to the general public. First, we calculate your air mileage CO2 emitted and then convert CO2 to NFTCar NFTs with one NFT equating to the removal of 1 ton of CO2.

What is Flight Emissions?

Flight emissions refer to the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases released by an airplane during a flight. These emissions play a significant role in contributing to climate change and global warming, with global emissions from airplanes estimated to be around 2% of total CO2 emissions.

It's important to note that the carbon footprint of a flight can vary depending on factors such as the type of aircraft and the flight's duration. The altitude at which the emissions are released also has a greater impact on the planet's climate. If you are interested to learn more about carbon emissions look HERE.

What is & How Do NFTCar NFTs Help Reduce Flight Emissions?

NFTCar offers an innovative approach to reducing carbon footprint by converting high-pollution vehicles into carbon credits using non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Our process starts by purchasing a high-pollution car and then dismantling it in a way that ensures none of the parts can be reused. We generate an NFT for the car, which represents the carbon offset.

To calculate the amount of CO2 emissions that the car would have emitted over the next ten years, we take into account the car's age, mileage, and average fuel consumption. We use the average CO2 emissions per liter of fuel (2.3 kg/CO2) to estimate the car's future emissions. One NFT is equivalent to offsetting 1 ton of CO2 emissions.

Act now and make a positive impact on the environment.
